Breakout retest trades can look clean after the move, but the review should ask whether the breakout was real, whether the retest respected the level, and whether the entry offered enough reward for the risk.
Level
A breakout retest trade starts with a meaningful level: range high, range low, support, resistance, liquidity area, or session structure.
Retest
The retest should show whether price accepted the new side of the level. Journal whether entry happened at the retest or after chasing the second move.
Risk
The stop should be where the retest idea is wrong, not where the loss feels comfortable. Save this reason in the journal.
Lesson
A winning breakout trade can still be low quality if the entry was late. A losing trade can be good if the setup and risk were clean.

Save the level, retest screenshot, entry, stop, target, result, mistake, and lesson.
